Firstly, I suggest everyone should turn the power off to their AC units, either at the isolator next to the outdoor compressor or at the switchboard just in case cleaning solution ends up on any electrical circuits.
I was pleased to see that there is enough solution to clean up to four AC units as we had four units to clean.
The collection bag worked well to isolate the spill zone and capture the liquid gunk. However frustratingly the nozzle on the spray gun kept popping out and falling into the collection bag. I had to continually re-assemble it being careful to ensure the O-rings seals at the trigger gun end were put in correctly, but it kept slipping off. In the end I used duct tape to keep the nozzle from coming out the trigger gun allowing me to continue. This was the reason I did not give it 5 stars.
One thing you must be aware of, the spray solution on the coils and the water flushing to clean the coils will go down the drain hole. This drain hole must be clear and unblocked for this gunk to drain away, if it is not then it will pool at the bottom of the water collection tray under the coils then spill over into the plastic bag, which is great. But the gunky water in the collection tray remains as it can’t go anywhere.
Our one gross unit ended up with a block drain two days after our cleaning job overflowing onto our kitchen bench and creating some water damage to the bench. This is not a fault of the AIRCONcare cleaning system, it’s just a consequence of the drain blocking due to gunk in the line which can happen to any system. So, I recommend that everyone should be aware that the chance of a blockage and water spilling out of the collection tray into your house is a real possibility.
When spraying the fan area and the air louvres the liquid falls directly into the collection bag as this part of the AC is underneath the coils and does not go into the collection tray and drain hole.
As an optional extra I chose to remove the front cover of our AC units prior to cleaning, typically done by removing 2 or 3 concealed screws and carefully leveraging the cover off. If you choose to do this then you absolutely MUST turn the power off as this will expose the dangerous electrical connection, can’t stress this enough. Then you MUST ensure you cover the electrical circuits with plastic and tape that plastic into place, so you don’t get any over spray on the electrical circuits.
The advantage of doing this is that you can have better access to the coils, and you can take the plastic cover outside and hose it with the garden hose thus saving the cleaning solution for the coils and fan.
The blockage I had was dealt with by taking this same cover off, identifying the drain hole location and using the AIRCONcare spray nozzle to squirt water down thru the small hole which for me was enough to clear the blockage.
Overall, I was pretty pleased with the system other than the spray nozzle continuously falling off.
Hi Harry,
Thank you for your detailed review. It is unfortunate that you received a faulty sprayer. We have just sent a new sprayhead to you.
Best regards,
The AIRCONcare Team
I love this product! the kit is worth getting and is so easy to use. Living in QLD with all the extra humidity mould and gunk builds up quickly in the aircons (teenagers have them running ALOT). I noticed only 2months after we had them professionally cleaned they needed doing again. I am so glad I found this product and have ordered more and have told everyone I know they need to get onto it as well. Smells amazing! Air feels crisper! Aircon seems to work better and cooler after the clean too! Also helps that shipping is fast, and it has everything you need! thanks!! you have a new loyal regular customer!
Easy to use and does a thorough clean. Saved us lots of money as we don’t have to hire anyone to do the job anymore.
AIRCONcare Air Conditioner Cleaning Kit 2 / Air Conditioner Cleaner for Split Ductless by MacGyver Lab
Very happy
Order 2 cleaning bags around Christmas and I must admit I was very surprised by how fast the items came within a week. Cheers 🍻
I bought the AIRCONcare kit as I typically get the main units professionally cleaned each year but after the last time one unit was smelling of damp socks or a musty smell when the unit started. I sprayed the unit, following instructions a boom, smells gone and have heaps of product left. I'll get 4 or 5 cleans out of the kit I purchased for around $100. Thats 1/5 the price I was paying for some else to do an average job!

I bought the Largest with drain option. works great. does the job. will buy again and from this company.
The cleaning product works amazing as always , however the bag was very disappointing. Having previously owned a fast drain bag for a number of years that was awesome, I purchased a replacement (my fault for not checking my purchase properly) I used this bag and hated every minute of using it. Spend the extra bit of $ and get the fast drain bag.
